Ray Simpson is Executive Vice-President of Harry Winston Diamond Corporation (formerly Aber Diamond Corporation) and comes to this position with over 20 years of experience in the diamond industry. When Ray joined Harry Winston in 2003 to head the company's strategic expansion into retailing, it was still a junior diamond mining company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. His leadership of this initiative resulted in the 2004 purchase of the iconic jeweler Harry Winston and elevated Ray in to the role of Chief Operating Officer. In 2007, Aber dual-listed on the New York Stock Exchange re-naming the whole mining and retail company "Harry Winston Diamond Corporation."" It was at this time that Ray took up his current Executive role where he is responsible for a broad range of functions, including Corporate Development and Investor Relations.

Ray started his career with diamond giant De Beers. During his 14 year tenure with the company, he held a variety of roles, ranging from mine resource evaluation to supply/demand forecasting and consumer marketing. He was head of Business Development for De Beers in London, and he was instrumental in establishing a joint retail venture between De Beers and the leading luxury group LVMH Moet Hennessey in 2000. Ray joined LVMH as Director of Operations for the new venture overseeing the development of the company's production, logistics and information systems.

Ray holds a Sloan Fellowship Masters degree from London Business School and a B.Sc. in Mathematics from Bristol University.
